surpyIce creams are an indulgence, but fruit sorbets are easy to make at home and have all the goodness of fresh fruits. Kids especially, will love sorbets. They are similar to ice lollies. Make it at home with fresh fruit pulp and combat the summer. Ensure that the treats have not just sugar but have nutritious fruit pulp and juice too! Orange Lemon Sorbet
surpy1Orange Juice 2 cups (either fresh or from a tetrapack) Lemon Juice A� cup Sugar A� cup Water 1 cup Pinch of salt
  • Boil the water and sugar and make a simple syrup. Leave aside to cool. Add the lemon juice to the syrup when cooled.
  • Add the orange juice to the cooled syrup and stir well.
  • Put this in a metal or a plastic container with a tight fitting lid and freeze it for 3-4 hours.
  • To serve, scrape the frozen sorbet completely with a fork, scoop up with an ice cream scoop and serve immediately.
Watermelon Sorbet surpy2Watermelon Pieces 4 cups Sugar A� cup Water 1 cup Lemon juice 1/5 cup
  • Boil the water and sugar and make a simple syrup. Leave aside to cool. Add the lemon juice to the syrup when cooled.
  • Mash the watermelon pieces and pass it through a sieve to remove the seeds.
  • When the sugar syrup is cool, add the watermelon juice and stir.
  • Put this in a metal or a plastic container with a tight fitting lid and freeze it for 3-4 hours.
  • To serve, scrape the frozen sorbet completely with a fork, scoop up with an ice cream scoop and serve immediately.
Kairee Ka Panna Sorbet surpy3Raw Mango A� cup (peeled and grated) Sugar A� cup Salt A� teaspoon Water 1 cup Lemon juice 1/5 cup
  • Boil the water and sugar and make a simple syrup. Leave aside to cool. Add the lemon juice to the syrup when cooled.
  • Cook the grated raw mango in 2 teaspoons of water for 1-2 minutes. Set aside to cool.
  • When the sugar syrup is cool, add the cooked raw mango and stir well.
  • Put this in a metal or a plastic container with a tight fitting lid and freeze it for 3-4 hours.
  • To serve, scrape the frozen sorbet completely with a fork, scoop up with an ice cream scoop and serve immediately.
