"I was interested in photo shoots, but only managed a shoot, few years back. I realised that I looked very pretty in those pictures. The photographer gave me some contacts and asked me to try for serials. I contacted few of them and I shifted five years back to Mumbai to try in telly. When I came to Mumbai everybody said it's too late for me to try for serials because I am too old for films. But today, I got the opportunity to do movies too. And age is no longer a bar," shares Urmila, the mother of two boys of 25 and 17 years of age. The telly actress is sharing screen space with the popular actor-singer Dhanush in 'Raanjhana'.

"I am playing the character of Dhanush's loving and caring, Brahmin mother. It was incredible! Dhanush is talented and humble. He appears so unassuming but working with him has been a great learning experience. The problem is I don't know English and he doesn't know much Hindi, so it was difficult to communicate but we managed. He is such a dedicated and committed actor that, I think it's an honour for me to act as his mother for his first Hindi and my debut flick," says Urmila.

Urmila seems excited about having got a chance to share screen space with successful star like Dhanush. "I loved working with director Anand too. He treated every artist with love and affection. He never used to shout on us and one could only hear him when he would say 'cut' and 'action'. I would love to work with him in every film of his. He is the best!"

She says that nothing is impossible in this world if you have passion to do something. "I have a feeling that somewhere people have lost faith in their passion. People speak about it today but imagine it to be true only in fairy tales. If you have passion to do something then you can do it. I feel people don't want to go through the pain of struggling but nothing will come to you without struggle," she shares.
