Rucha Gujrati who makes a comeback with an out and out negative character in ‘Do Dil Bandhe Ek Dori Se’
After starting off as a child actor for films, and doing couple of music videos, the beautiful Rucha Gujrati took on to Television with Balaji Telefilms ‘Kkusum.’ She went on to do shows like ‘Bhabhi,’ ‘Pyaar ke Do Naam’…, ‘Rang Badalti Odhani’ amongst many others. Her last outing for television was as ‘Kiya in Saas Bina Sasural.’
The petite actress who had married businessman Mitul Sanghvi in 2010 faced many trials and tribulations in her married life. Finally, she lodged a police complaint against her husband and in-laws and got divorced recently. However, Rucha is not ready to talk about it and want to focus on her career once again.
She is back on the tube with a negative role in the new show ‘Do Dil Bandhe Ek Dori Se’ on ‘Life OK’ which features Arhaan Behl of ‘Pratigya’ as the male lead, while Mansi Srivastav makes her small screen debut as the female lead. Vikas Sethi is paired with Rucha.
Rucha, who plays a menacing sister-in-law to the female protagonist in the show, says, “The name of my character is Mahima who is very overpowering and domineering in nature. A firm decision-maker she tries to rule and dominate everyone around and knows how to get her work done in any possible way.”
Rucha’s last negative role was in the TV show ‘Saas Bina Sasural,’ but she was there only for a few episodes. Now she comes back as a grey character and it was a challenge to portray the role, “I have not played such a character till date and have played innocent and simple characters only,” added Rucha.
So how will she take up this challenge? “For me it will be a good opportunity to play with a different emotions since so far I have only played (a good) bhabhi, girl-next-door or a gullible or simple, docile girl. I will give it my hundred percent and hope that the audience too will accept me,” says Rucha.
Rucha has done many reality shows too, like ‘Saas V/s Bahu,’ ‘Paisa Bhari Padega’ amongst others and was the winner of ‘Welcome-Baazi Mehmaan Navazi ki.’ Talking about non-fiction shows she says, “Yes, I am interested in reality shows too.” Since she has a colourful past, is ‘Bigg Boss’ on the cards? “I really don’t know but I am not ready to talk about my personal life right now. I have gone through a lot of trauma but do not wish to make it public,” said Rucha.
She wants to take her career more seriously now and is waiting for good roles to follow, “Thankfully I was never away from the industry and I am hoping and waiting for good roles to come my way. I am getting good offers even now and I will choose the best,” says Rucha smilingly even as news comes in that she has been approached to play a prominent role opposite Samir Soni in ‘Life Ok’s’ upcoming show ‘Khauff.’ However, Rucha prefers to not talk about it at this moment, “I have been offered the show but I will talk about it only when something concrete happens.”
She was also seen enjoying her act as a host on ‘Rasoi ki Rani,’ “That is again something that I want to explore… I liked to host the show and will do so again if I get another opportunity.” We wish the young actress a new lease of life in her personal and professional life!
