Wizarding World, rejoice! The 20th anniversary of the Harry Potter series has in store a huge deal. For those witches and wizards who cannot be in London to watch the play, Hachette India is publishing the book, ‘Harry Potter and the Cursed Child’ parts I and II.

What’s more? The book will be a Rehearsal’s Edition and is set to be released on July 31, which is the shared birthday of JK Rowling and Harry Potter. A Collector’s Edition will be released later based on feedback on the play from viewers.

The announcement came on Pottermore.com: “A host of new print and digital publishing has been announced from JK Rowling’s Wizarding World, including a special Rehearsal Edition of the script book of new stage play, ‘Harry Potter and the Cursed Child Parts I & II’.”

The same was announced in India by Little, Brown Book Group on Wednesday that said, “The Special Rehearsal Edition of the script book (hardback, £20) will be published at midnight, following the play’s opening on July 30, bringing the eighth Harry Potter story to a wider, global audience.”

The script eBook will be published simultaneously with the print editions by Pottermore, in collaboration with Little, Brown Book Group in the UK, and Scholastic in the US and Canada. Earlier, it was announced that the play is the official eighth story in the series and will be picking up 19 years after the seventh book, ‘Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows’. The play is written by Jack Thorne and is being directed by John Tiffany.
