Crooks always invent new ways to scam the society. Now it is the turn of–profit law school, which turns out to be massive scam swindling several millions of dollars from the students by inducing them to join the high-earning legal profession. Young people, naturally, are caught in the web.

They could neither bag swanky jobs nor able to repay the loans they borrowed from the banks owned by the racketeers running the law schools. In short, this is the crux of ‘The Rooster Bar’, the latest thriller novel from the grinder of the celebrated legal thriller writer John Grisham.

The protagonists Gordon, Todd, Mark, and Zola are the students of one of the for-profit law schools owned by the racketeers. Gordon, who is suffering from bipolar disorder, suddenly becomes depressed after finding out the racket of the law schools. He investigates into the whole scam and prepares a damning report on the scam.

However, he commits suicide jumping into the Potomac River but not before leaving behind the whole report in pen drives at his place. Shocked by the sudden demise of their friend, Todd, Mark and Zola are devastated. Zola, the West African immigrant from Senegal, who is also the girlfriend of Gordon, finds it horrible to confront the loss of her boyfriend.

Mark and Todd want to avenge the death of their friend and they are too small to do anything. But they decide to use the loopholes in the legal system and make good their loss.

How they do it forms an interesting turn of events.

Like many of the protagonists of John Grisham, these three friends also compelled to leave the country to start a new life elsewhere.

But not before avenging the death of their friend Gordon.

Right from the beginning, the reader keeps on wondering what these three youngsters would do to the mighty racketeers with billions of dollars behind them.

As the author noted in his remarks, in the end, he could churn out a thriller after going through a story in the newspapers with the headline Law School Scam. That is John Grisham.
