Benny Dayal, who shot to fame with the hit song “Kaise Mujhe Tum Mil Gayi” from ‘Ghajini’, has now carved a niche for himself in the industry. He was also the member of the band called S5 which was launched by the channel SS Music.

Kerala-based singer Benny started his career with Malayalam vigilante thriller film ‘By the People’, after this musical maestro AR Rahman noticed his work and called Benny for an audition. Rahman was impressed with Benny and offered him to sing for his upcoming film. Post that they have collaborated on many projects.

Speaking about the journey with AR Rehman, he said, “I share a beautiful equation with Rahman sir. We have a teacher-disciple relationship, and he has been an inspiration for me. I feel lucky and grateful that I can perform with him and tour with him. He’s my godfather in the industry and someone, who inspires me to be a better musician. He taught me how great success comes with great humility."

Benny also judged reality TV show ‘The Voice’, season 2 and has lauded the live performance by the kids. “The live performance is not easy, one should strive hard to give the best to grab audience attention and mesmerise the judge sitting front,” he said.

“Always talent is better judged on live platforms or concerts. Today kids are being offered multiple platforms to showcase their talents. One of which is the reality shows especially for beginners, that gives them a huge opportunity to show their talent. Live performance defers from studio singing, it is the place where the talent is easily picked up and appreciated,” he shares.

Benny has rendered his voice in different languages, speaking about his flexibility he said, “I am a positive learner that developed ease in me to release tuned voice in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu Kannada and Malayalam languages. Whatever I might be, a composer, singer or a performer, I try to bring in happiness and satisfaction for audience and me. Life is all about achieving something that really makes sense. However, I am desperately waiting to give voice to the Bollywood king, Shah Rukh Khan, hoping that day comes soon.”
