Warangal Fort:
This fort is a prominent landmark of Telangana and is known for its historical richness and architectural excellence. The highlight of Warangal fort is the four ornamental gates, which are the official emblem of Telangana. The remnants of the fort showcase the grandeur of this majestic fort.
Ramappa Temple:
This historical temple is situated about 77 kilometres from Warangal and is dedicated to Lord Shiva. It is said that it took over 40 years to construct the temple and was built by General Recherla Rudra during the period of Kakatiya dynasty’s rule Ganapati Deva. The edifice of Ramappa Temple is an exquisite example of Kakatiya style of design and is covered in detailed carvings that depict the life in the olden times.
Laknavaram Cheruvu:
Warangal is dotted with many beautiful lakes and Laknavaram Lake is must visit during your stay. This man-made wonder is spread over 10,000 acres and was built by Kakatiya rulers when Warangal was their capital. Another feature of the lake is that is has 13 small islands and the 160-metre-long three individual suspension bridges connect three islands with each other and the main shore.
Thousand Pillar Temple:
The famous Thousand Pillar Temple is tucked away in Hanamakonda. As the name suggests this ancient temple has over one thousand pillars and they actually serve as walls of the temple. This is one of the popular pilgrimages centres in Telangana and devotees throng the temple every day. Another feature of this temple is that it has a mammoth monolith Nandi, which is made up of black basalt stone.
