Facebook-owned WhatsApp fixed the issue this week which has got over 1.5 billion clients. It is yet to find out the numbers of users who got affected. We need to wait for the statement on this from WhatsApp.

The bug was discovered by Natalie Silvanovich, a security researcher with Google’s Project Zero security research team. She said, “This problem can arise when a WhatsApp user accepts a call from a nasty peer”. The memory corruption bug was found in WhatsApp’s video conferencing execution.
