Hyderabad-based mobility and payments solutions company DigitSecure’s HotRemit, an online and mobile social wallet platform that enables payments and money transfers between Facebook and Blackberry users, was launched by actress Sridevi and IT minister KT Rama Rao on Wednesday.

DigitSecure is one of the few companies authorised by the RBI and is also PCI-DSS certified for secure credit, debit card processing. In fact, it would be the first company in the Asia pacific which enables real money transfer and payments as a Facebook application. Another key differentiator is that the money transfer that happens between Facebook and Blackberry users can be instantly sent to any bank account in India. It is currently available as a Facebook and Blackberry application.

“We have been working diligently to deliver a simple, secure and fast way to remit money across various social platforms. Our platform also enables small and medium businesses to engage socially with their customers and to receive payments. Our platform has been built to simplify payments and money transfers on social platforms, without compromising on security,” says Krishna Prasad, chairman, DigitSecure.

HotRemit ensures transaction processing in real time. By using HotRemit users can seamlessly send money to any of their contacts without bothering to know the mundane details associated with a traditional money transfer. HotRemit ensures security of transaction data both in rest and in transit. DigitSecure as a company is PCI-DSS certified.

HotRemit would be launched shortly across all mobile platforms and also for mobile browser access, which would enable small and medium businesses engage socially with their customers and increase business by simplifying payments.
