Android users now send directions, notes from desktop to phones via Google search

Google has rolled out a new feature for Android users wherein they can send directions or notes from the desktop directly to phones using Google Search. Along with directions and notes, users can also send reminders or set an alarm, or instantly find the location of their phone directly from the Google search bar on their desktop.

the Android device is up to date along with the right settings enabled, users can type ‘send a note to my phone’ or ‘send directions to my phone’ directly into Google’s Search bar. This will open up the Google Now-style card that will allow users to type in their notes or specify directions which is one is looking out for.

After this, Google will send in the data to your phone as a notification. The report points out that the new feature can be seen as an extension to Google’s syncing between its Chrome desktop browser and its Android operating system.

This new system can also be seen as a response to Handoff, a prominent feature in iOS 8 which makes it easier to pick up where you left off when switching between their phone and computer. Comparatively, Google’s new system built into the Search bar is said to be far more simpler.
