The Smartphone is available across all Samsung's retail channels from the coming week at a price of Rs 8490. In the online space, it'll be available exclusively on Snapdeal.

The next generation Tizen smartphone, Samsung Z3, designed and manufactured in India, has been packed with a host of services and features for first time Smartphone adopters in India.

"The launch of Samsung Z3 re-emphasizes India's significance as a key centre for innovation and development on the Tizen operating system, with India being the first country to globally launch the Z3," said Asim Warsi, Vice President, Marketing, IT & Mobile at Samsung India.

The Smartphone flaunts a 5-inch HD (1280×720 pixels) Super AMOLED display, and is powered by a 1.3GHz Spreadtrum quad-core processor paired with 1GB of RAM. Also on offer is 8GB internal storage, which can be expanded up to 128GB using a microSD card.

It also features an 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, 5-megapixel wide-angle selfie camera, and a 2,600mAh battery. Connectivity options include dual-SIM card slots, 3G support, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 BLE, and GPS. On the software front, it runs on Tizen OS 2.3.

Samsung is targeting the first time Smartphone users with the Z3. Tizen helps deliver high levels of customization, given that it is an open source platform, the company said.
