NASA’s Solar Dynamic Observatory (SDO) that was launched on February 11 in the year 2010 keeps a 24 hour eye on the Sun along with the view of the atmosphere around, the solar material - Corona.

SDO captured images of the Sun with different wavelengths highlighting the various temperatures of the solar material. These images are of help to understand the complex electromagnetic system that causes the constant movement on the Sun, reveal Scientists who also add that flares, solar explosions called coronal mass ejections may lead to disruption in space. But studying the closest star is a way to learn about other stars in the galaxy.
