Technology helps the business stay on top of change. During the two-day ETCIO Annual Conclave held at Ramoji Filmcity, Hyderabad from March 16-18, IT leaders discussed the innovative ways of leveraging technology to lead through a time of unprecedented change and opportunity.
The conclave, with the theme “Invent the Future”, was organized by ETCIO and supported by industry partners, government agencies, and IT decision makers.
Top IT decision makers from across industry verticals congregated for the first edition of the Conclave which was a definitive gateway for enterprise technology knowledge exchange.
At the inaugural session of the conference Jayesh Ranjan, Principal Secretary, Department of Industries & Commerce and Department of IT, Government of Telangana shared his vision for Digital Telangana and underlined the role of technology in improving governance, infrastructure and life of citizens.
Digital is the single most potent force shaking up the business landscape today. Emerging technologies are reshaping industries, reinventing processes, digitally transforming your organizations to shape a digital future. Acting on this imperative, CIOs need to leverage digitization to create fundamentally new compelling value propositions. Munish Mittal, Group Head - IT and CIO, HDFC Bank delivered a keynote session on realizing business objectives using API Banking. “Organisations can provide digital experiences to their customers and achieve digital objectives by using big data analytics and building APIs and microservices,” he said.
But digital also throws up a host of challenges around enterprise security, cyber crime and financial fraud. In his presentation titled “Leveraging Next Gen Technology for Fraud Management”, Mrutyunjay Mahapatra, DMD & CIO, State Bank of India underlined the message that enterprises need assisted intelligence to guard themselves against financial frauds. “When artificial intelligence is made a substitute to real intelligence, enterprises are at a greater risk of falling prey to fraudulent activities,” he cautioned.
The Conclave gave the CIOs an opportunity to share best practices on negotiating the uncertain road ahead.During the panel discussions, a distinguished panel of CIOs shared their experiences around making digital happen. They discussed the approaches, opportunities and risks associate with making digital transformation a reality within the enterprise.
The ETCIO Conclave 2018 concluded with a grand evening celebrating the accomplishments of IT leaders of India. Over 105 CIOs were felicitated for their outstanding achievements in making their enterprises future ready.
Vijay Sethi, CIO and Head CSR- Hero MotoCorp, Umesh Mehta, EVP & Global CIO, Jubilant Life Sciences, Jayantha Prabhu, Group CIO, Essar & Business Head India- AGC Networks, Eklaque Bari, Head IT - Max Life Insurance received the ETCIO Iconic CIO Award.
