After disrupting the 4G telecom market in India by launching competitive mobile internet plans. Now Reliance Jio is all set to take on broadband internet market by storm. Prior to the full-fledged public rollout of its broadband service, Reliance Jio GigaFiber, the company has already proved of being the 'fastest' in India. According to Netflix's latest monthly ISP speed index, Reliance Jio GigaFiber has the highest average internet speed in India.

This is in particular surprising as Reliance Jio GigaFibre services are still available as pilot and the company is yet to roll out it on a large scale.

According to the report, Jio GigaFiber had an average monthly speed of 3.48 Mbps in October while its competitors like Airtel offer an average monthly speed of 3.10 Mbps. After Reliance Jio GigaFiber, 7 Star Digital is ranked second in the list with an average speed of 3.19 Mbps. Spectranet stands third, ahead of Airtel, with an average speed of 3.14 Mbps. BSNL takes the thirteenth spot in the list of 15 with an average speed of 2.13 Mbps. Players like Atria, YouBroadband, Hathway and Excitel offer average monthly speeds between 2.89 Mbps and 2.61 Mbps respectively.

The Netflix ISP Speed Index is a measure of prime time Netflix performance on particular ISPs (internet service providers) globally. However, the tool does not measure the overall performance for other services on the network. In other words, the speed and performance of Netflix determine this ranking.
