Microsoft recently rolled out an emergency patch for Internet Explorer to fix a zero-day bug in the browser. However, the patch appears to have adversely impacted some laptops.

According to a report on BetaNews.com, the bug affected Internet Explorer 9 to 11 across multiple versions of Windows.

On some Lenovo laptops installing the KB4467691 patch, did not allow users to restart Windows. The issue is seen to be impacting certain Lenovo laptops that have less than 8GB of RAM.

Microsoft has suggested some ways to fix the issue such as restarting the laptop using Unified Extensible Firmware Interface (UEFI) followed by Disable Secure Boot. You may have to go through BitLocker recovery after Secure Boot has been disabled.
