Hyderabad: All eyes are on MLA A Revanth Reddy as it is not clear whether he participates in the budget session of the Assembly as he announced his resignation to the MLA post.
MLA A Revanth Reddy
Revanth announced his resignation to the post of Telugu Desam Party working president and also to the MLA post in October last year, before joining the Congress. However, the resignation is yet to be accepted, and he continues to be the member of the House.
As Revanth is still a member of the House, he can attend the Assembly session. Meanwhile, Revanth has attracted the attention of people with his tirade against Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao and his family members in the past four years. He has levelled charges against the Chief Minister and his son and Minister KT Rama Rao.
His fight against the Chief Minister has been applauded by the anti-TRS and anti-KCR forces. Revanth is considered by many Congress and Telugu Desam supporters as the sole leader in the State who could take the Chief Minister head on.
The popularity of Revanth among the Congress followers was visible during the Praja Chaitanya Bus Yatra of the party. Whenever he to spoke, the audience cheered and encouraged him. His followers are expecting that Revanth would continue his fight against the Chief Minister and the ruling party in the Assembly also. They are eager to know whether he participates in budget session or not.
They also want to know where he sits in the Assembly on the Congress side or on Telugu Desam side. Technically, he is still considered as TD MLA and there may be no change of his seat.
He may support the Congress activities in the House though he sits on the Telugu Desam benches. He may not be given opportunity to speak in the House as a member of the Congress Legislature Party, but he may use the opportunity given as legislator of Telugu Desam party to support the Congress on the floor.
Revanth has turned a bitter critique of the Chief Minister after being booked in Note-for-Vote scam and was sent to prison. He was kept behind the bars for about a month, and after the release, he has waged a fight against the Chief Minister. Revanth announced several times that he would not rest until the Chief Minister was thrown out of power.
