Flash protest by Warangal central jail staff

Warangal: The staff of Warangal central prison resorted to flash protest in front of the jail here on Tuesday against the alleged harassment by the jail superintendent Y Rajesh. It was alleged that the superintendent was harassing the warders and other staff working at the jail.

On Monday night, he had beaten up two warders called Naresh and Suman as they allowed jail inmates to sleep early. They staged a demonstration in front the jail and shouted slogans against the superintendent. The victims, who were said to be dalits, speaking to the media, complained that the official has abused them referring to their community. They accused the superintendent, who belongs to Anantapur, for showing regional bias.
