KCR: Study Jurala-Type Water Supply, Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao reviewed various schemes that are being implemented in Panchayat Raj, Rural Development and Rural Water Supply departments in the State.
Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao reviewed various schemes that are being implemented in Panchayat Raj, Rural Development and Rural Water Supply departments in the State.
He instructed officials to prepare an action plan for improving roads, water supply, sewerage and other basic amenities in ten districts. Raymond Peter, Principal Secretary, Panchayat Raj, Rural Development, informed that around 61,500 km of different types of roads were in the State. The Chief Minister suggested that the officials concentrate more on the supply of water from irrigation projects, minor irrigation tanks and canals through natural gravity instead of lifting the water to minimise expenditure, on the lines of Jurala Project that supplies irrigation and drinking water to four districts through gravity. Panchayat Raj Minister K Taraka Rama Rao and senior officials took part in the meeting.
