KCR, Geeta Reddy extol Padma Devender Reddy
KCR, Geeta Reddy Praise Telangana First Deputy Speaker Padma Devender Reddy. The fourth day assembly session of Telangana state has begun on Thursday. Padma Devender Reddy has been elected unanimously as the deputy Speaker of State Assembly. Madhusudana Chary, the Speaker of Telangana State Assembly, has announced the matter officially.

Later, Padma was congratulated by many leaders including KCR, the Chief Minister of Telangana. He addressed the house and said that it was happy news that Padma Devender Reddy got elected as the Deputy Speaker. He said that Padma Devender Reddy was with him for the entire period of Telangana agitation that has begun early in 2001. He said she was elected as ZPTC Member in the past with a record majority, before getting elected as the MLA of Ramayanampet constituency in 2004. Further, KCR said that she was like his own daughter. Later, he urged all party leaders including TRS to maintain good conventions in the house.
Later, Geeta Reddy, the Congress Party MLA, addressed the house and said that it was great that a woman MLA got appointed as the Deputy Speaker of the house and said it was a matter of pride. She expressed her hope that women candidates would be given more opportunities. She said that Padma mingles up with everyone and urged her to give equal chances neutrally to all members to fight against the problems.
