Hyderabad: Nallala Odelu Likely to be TRS Chief Whip, Chennur MLA Nallala Odelu is tipped to be the Government Chief Whip. Although several names such as Jadcharla MLA C Laxma Reddy, Kothagudem MLA Jalagam Venkat Rao, Warangal (East) MLA Konda Surekha have been doing the rounds for the last several days, the TRS finally zeroed in on Odelu.

The Chennur MLA has been associated with the TRS since 2001. He defeated Congress heavyweight and former Minister G Vinod in 2009 elections and repeated the same feat even this time. Meanwhile, Bodhan MLA Shakil Amir, who defeated former Irrigation Minister P Sudarshan Reddy, is learnt to have been offered one of three whip posts. An official announcement on these appointments is likely to be made on Thursday.
