RGIA: 23 Cases Booked Against Shops For Violating the Imposed Norms. According to sources, as many as 23 cases have been booked at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) against WH Smith Store and the AVA Gifting Store functioning at Shamshabad Airport in Hyderabad by the legal metrology department for violating the imposed norms.

Hyderabad: According to sources, as many as 23 cases have been booked at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) against WH Smith Store and the AVA Gifting Store functioning at Shamshabad Airport in Hyderabad by the legal metrology department for violating the imposed norms.

It is learnt that the WH Smith Store was found selling packages at prices more than what was set as MRP, while from the other end, the AVA Gifting Store have been using self labelling of prices on the actual price and have been cheating the public. Items worth Rs 25L were seized from the AVA Store by the officials of the legal metrology department. Under the Legal Metrology Act of 2009 and the Packaged Commodity Rules of 2011, cases have been booked against the mentioned shops.

Also, the legal metrology department carried out snap checks at the Rythu Bazaar at the KPHB Colony and seized as many as 13 defective weighing machines. Cases were booked against the vendors who were cheating customers in this way. The weighing machines were seized by the officials.
