Bowenpally traders rapped for hoarding onions

Govt warns of taking over administration to ensure transparency

T Harish Rao, minister for irrigation, and T Padma Rao, excise minister, along with concerned officials, conducted a joint inspection at the Bowenpally Agricultural Market Yard on Tuesday. The officials checked the onion godowns which are in custody of the market agents after reports of hoarding which led to an increase in the price of the vegetable.

The officials expressed anger and dissatisfaction in the manner in which the Agricultural Market Committee was handling things. They warned the agents to face action and said that, if required, the government would take over the affairs of the market committee to ensure clean and transparent administration.

The officials also inspected the canteen at the market yard and expressed dissatisfaction about the quality and quantity of food.
