Telangana: Bonalu preparedness reviewed by GHMC

Hyderabad: It is evident that the state government of Telangana has declared both Bathukamma and Bonalu festivals as the state festivals. Moreover, this is the first year these festivals are celebrated in the independent state. Collectively all these reasons are going to make the festivals to be celebrated grandly in the state. As part of the GHMC’s preparedness ahead of the festival, temporary toilets and medical camps would come up in crowded areas during Bonalu festivities.

GHMC Commissioner Somesh Kumar said that the arrangements would be made in coordination with the medical and health departments. A review meeting was held on Wednesday concerning the Bonalu preparedness. Somesh Kumar said that he would inspect all the procession routes to ensure that proper sanitation and street lighting were available.

He said that he would talk to the Telangana Southern Power Distribution Company to ensure that there were no power disruptions, and with the HMWSSB for drinking water arrangements.
