While Andhra Pradesh state has unanimously passed the resolution of increasing of retirement age for the state employees, Telangana government has kept mum on this very issue despite they receive strong demand from the employees. This seems to be a strategic move by the Telangana state government. Getting 2yrs more service at the termination period is an added advantage to any government employee – and it becomes a luring issue for most of the employees to lean towards the Andhra Pradesh government for their serving.

It has been the main problem that most of the Andhra Pradesh natives wished to work in Telangana government for sundry reasons, thereby making the employees division between the states a complicated issue. Nevertheless, this one particular move has turned as many as 812 employees of Andhra Pradesh working in Telangana to submit their papers to allot them for Andhra Pradesh state. Of these 812 employees, those who have been recruited in the 20% merit quota were also there. They do not come under the Kamalanthan committee’s purview.

Ever since Andhra Pradesh state government had taken up the crucial decision of increasing the retirement age by 2 yrs, even Telangana employees have started building pressure on the government. Nevertheless, no positive nod has come from the government’s side. It might be a strategic move, supposedly. Already the impact is seen and as many as 812 employees wish to serve in Andhra Pradesh; and many more may follow.

Telangana state might not have any difficulty in increasing the retirement age rather it gives an added advantage for the burden on the newly formed state is lessened for at least two years; and two years of time for any newly born state is a reasonably good time. However, keeping mum on the very issue is supposedly a strategic move - and - Telangana government may consider increasing the retirement age, once all issues of employees division get amicably sorted out!!​
