KCR had inducted 11 ministers initially on June 2. Six vacancies remain unfilled. The strength of Cabinet should not exceed 18. Meanwhile, many senior leaders are eyeing the remaining six berths. MLAs Jupally Krishna Rao, C Laxma Reddy and V Srinivas Goud are the front-runners. Among these three leaders, two are most likely to be accommodated. It may be recalled that Mahabubnagar district could not find a place in the first phase of Cabinet that was sworn in on June 2.

Senior MLA Koppula Eashwar, who was in the race for deputy chief minister post, initially, would be given ministerial berth this time from Karimnagar district quota.
From Warangal, MLAs Konda Surekha (Warangal east) and A Chandu Lal (Mulugu) are eyeing Cabinet berths. With this district already bagging coveted Deputy Chief Minister and Speaker posts, only one leader might be inducted into Cabinet.

Meanwhile, women MLAs from Adilabad district, Kova Laxmi and Rekha Naik are believed to be in the race under ST category. Jalagam Venkat Rao (Khammam district), Gampa Govardhan and Enugu Ravinder Reddy (Nizamabad district) are also aspiring for berth in the Cabinet. Since three MLAs each from Medak and Hyderabad districts have already made their way into the cabinet, it is more or less confirmed that no MLA from these districts would find a place in Cabinet expansion.
