Meanwhile, KCR told the delegation about the availability of coal and water at Ramagundam, and urged NTPC to start the work there. He assured NTPC that the government would provide lands for the power plant which could be used for the expansion of the existing NTPC unit.

Naidu explained the present power situation in the State and the impending problems following the near drought like conditions to the NTPC MD and urged him to expedite setting up of 4,000 MW power plant at Pudimadaka in the coastal Andhra.

He asked government to finalise a suitable site within 15 days so that NTPC would go ahead with the setting up of the project. He agreed to set up 300 MW solar power park in Guntur district through competitive bidding so that AP could get solar power at lowest tariff.

To meet the energy demand immediately, Choudhury asked Naidu to enter into PPAs with Jhajjar and NTPC Barh to avail 300 MW power allotted to AP recently. It was also decided to avail power from NTPC Farakka on long-term basis. Among other decisions that were taken on Tuesday includes allowing use of NTPC railway sliding and allow Ms Hinduja's to take four rakes up to their coal yards.
