KCR’s dream of Hyderabad Olympics

Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam once said, “You have to dream before your dreams come true”. KCR must have been inspired by this quote or otherwise. But, the government of the newly formed Telangana state has been just few weeks old but the first Chief Minister K Chandra Sekhar Rao is determined to make Telangana likely victor in hosting the 2024 Olympic Games.

Additionally, there are also plans to reopen the old Begumpet airport and metro circling the capital among others which are prerequisite to serve the players, audience and delegates of several countries. Nevertheless, few experts say Hyderabad is far behind to be eligible to host the prestigious Olympic Games. From the other end, the TRS sources say they are always optimistic regarding the development of the state and KCR always say grand plans will yield grand results. Of course, there is nothing wrong to aspire for a great deal provided that such a deal is not unethical and immoral.

The Chief Minister is currently focusing on reclaiming thousands of acres in the city from encroachments. In a surprising move, the GHMC officials said that there will not be any further demolitions in the city till they understand certain things and they say demolitions will not benefit anyone as it would result it in huge loss to the common public who purchased the apartments and commercial properties as the builders have already made their money.
