Woman sarpanch attacked

Warangal: A woman sarpanch, B Sowjanya, of Elukurthy village in Geesukonda mandal in the district was allegedly attacked by hooligans in the village on Thursday. The sarpanch has lodged a complaint with District Collector G Kishan in this connection and sought action against the accused. In her complaint, she alleged that one P Jayapal Reddy and his associates have attacked her during a meeting on the day. She said that the accused were illegally using Mahila Mandali Bhavan in the village to stock their grains. When questioned the misuse of building, they manhandled and abused her using foul language. The Collector referred the matter to the concerned police officials.
