In the new state, many official documents including ration cards and driving licenses are required to be changed with the official endorsement of the name of Telangana over them.

In the new state, many official documents including ration cards and driving licenses are required to be changed with the official endorsement of the name of Telangana over them. People who so far not in possession the driving licenses, and the people with old license with validity left are applying for fresh licenses only for the Telangana tag on their proof of identity. The charges for getting a fresh license, along with the application, proof of address and the original license turns to be Rs 415 excluding an extra charge of Rs 30 for delivery.
As many as 49,634 driving licenses were reportedly issued by the 37 RTA offices in the Telangana State. There are nearly 70.36 lakh license holders in ten districts of Telangana. Each day, reportedly more than 3,000 driving licenses are issued in the State while Hyderabad and Ranga Reddy districts alone issue about 1,000 licenses in a day.
