Akbar barred from entering Thane
Akbar barred from entering Thane, The Thane Police on Monday served notice on MIM floor leader in T Assembly, Akbaruddin Owaisi, not to enter Mumbra on Wednesday where he was supposed to participate in an Iftar programme.

Hyderabad: The Thane Police on Monday served notice on MIM floor leader in T Assembly, Akbaruddin Owaisi, not to enter Mumbra on Wednesday where he was supposed to participate in an Iftar programme.
The notice was served on Akbar at his residence on Monday morning. Mumbai police commissioner Vijay Kamble in his order said that they had information that Akbar would be addressing a public meeting on July 23 which could affect public tranquillity.
The notice was served ‘Under section 144 Crpc1973.’ Mumbra falls under the Thane Commissionerate limits and this order shall come into force from July 20 to 31.
The Thane Police referred to his past records of delivering provocative speeches. It held that as law and order problems were created earlier and offences were registered in different police stations, the police had decided to bar him from visiting Mumbra. The commissioner also cautioned Akbaruddin against contravening the order, as he would face prosecution under U/s 188 of IPC 1860.
Responding to this, Akbaruddin said that the order was issued based on false and unfounded charges. He clarified that the proposed visit to Mumbra on July 23 was only for the limited purpose of attending an Iftar dinner in connection with the Holy month of Ramzan. “No public meeting has been scheduled nor does he intend to make a public speech there. Prior arrangements are being made only for hosting Iftar dinner”, he told reporters.
