Osmania University: Students Protest Against T Government Over Contract Employees. Even at the time of commemorating the Telangana ideologist Professor Jayashankar, the Osmania University students staged a protest, which lead to tension. The students have been protesting against government’s decision on regularizing the contract employees.

Ministers and Leaders of the Employs Unions were about to attend the unveiling ceremony of Professor Jayashankar at the non-teaching hall in the campus. After coming to know about their arrival the students tried to gherao them. They were rushing towards the venue while raising slogans against the government and pelted stones. Police arrested the students and taken them to Amberpet Police Station. A tight security has been arranged around the campus.
The incident rings alarm for the government. The students were strong supporters during the Telangana movement. After the decades separate statehood is materialized, the so called self government of the new state is facing a big trouble from its staunch alleys.
The student and unemployees of the state have been bummed out, when the T-Government’s decision on regularizing the contract employees was announced. Students and employees feel that they would be deprived of new opportunities. They have been demanding the government to revoke the decision. And also they want the rulers to set up Telangana Public Service Commission and fill the vacancies by issuing notifications.
