Hyderabad: The elections for the Zilla Parishad Chairman and Vice Chairman posts of Khammam district will be held at 3 p.m. on Thursday. As many as 39 members are there in Khammam district of which 19 belong to the Telugu Desam Party, while Congress Party has 10 members and YSRCP has 4 members. There are 3 New Democracy members, 2 CPM members and one CPI member among the others.
It is evident that the elections in Khammam could not be clubbed together with other districts in Telangana over the then prevailing unsettled dispute of the merger of 7 Mandals of submerging areas under the Polavaram project.
