Dokka challenges KCR’s FAST, Dokka urged the court to direct the Telangana government to follow the earlier eligibility criteria for fee reimbursement and admissions without reference to 1956 as cut-off date.

Hyderabad: On Thursday, former minister of erstwhile Andhra Pradesh Dokka Manikya Varaprasada Rao moved the Hyderabad High Court challenging a GO issued by the Telangana government to implement financial assistance to the students of Telangana (FAST) to benefit only the students whose parents were residents of Telangana as on November 1, 1956.

The advocate representing the former minister urged the court to grant stay on operation of the GO dated July 30, 2014, the former minister said the impugned order was issued as a test case and the same fissiparous tendency would be continued in all other welfare measures.

Dokka urged the court to direct the Telangana government to follow the earlier eligibility criteria for fee reimbursement and admissions without reference to 1956 as cut-off date.
