She demanded for the explanation from the centre on the matter of attacks on the Kashmiri Pundits. She said it was awful that Kashmiri Pundits are killed by the militants. She demanded that the militants are to be dealt severely. Further she stated that whereas 700 Kashmiri pundits were killed in actuality, only 200 is shown in the official statistics.

Kavitha iterated that J & K is part of India without any doubt and the Centre has a responsible role to ensure that the interests of the people of that region are protected. She said that the people of J & K have been suffering for many years. The speech delivered by Kavitha was brilliant, considering the fact that she got elected to the house for the first time and her experience is limited.
