Khammam: The police seized pledged gold, promissory notes and cheque books on Thursday after conducting searches in the houses of 35 private financers and money-lenders in Palvancha town of Khammam district. They took the financers into custody, as they were accused of lending money at high interest rates. The police confiscated pledged gold worth Rs 5 crore from the house of one Tallada Srinivasa Rao.
