Hyderabad: High court here on Monday expressed its anger on the issue of ‘FAST’. On brief statement released to the media, it is stated that the G.O issued on FAST scheme was unconstitutional and it is against the national integrity.

“Telangana is part of India. It is geographically and constitutionally a part of India. The people residing here are Indians. Many people living here made their homes in Hyderabad. They are people of Hyderabad.” It stated.

High court suggested the Telangana government to reconsider the GO issued, and ordered to counter-petition within 6 weeks.

FAST (Financial Aide for Student of Telangana) is a Government Order issued by Telangana government in the past. The GO was issued so that only student of Telangana will only be benefitted. It got a lot of heat from the opposition.

It was a purported move by the Telangana government to restrict “fee reimbursement” only to those students who can demonstrate their parents (or grandparents) were bonafide residents of Telangana as of November 1, 1956.

A petition was filed against this Government Order in High Court by Ex-Minster Dokka Manikya vara Prasad and Pithani Satya Narayana.
