The school declared holidays in view of Dasara festival. Grabbing the opportunity, teachers organised the festivities in the presence of students of the primary school. The school management said the festival was organised to revive the age-old tradition of Telangana people. Primary Section Principal Kasturi Sailaja Padmacharan said she was happy to host the celebrations for the first time in the school in a separate State of Telangana. She described Bathukamma festival as a big festival which was celebrated by women in Telangana. After taking part in Bathukamma festivities for nine days, women celebrate Dasara festival, she pointed out. Bathukamma rally at Karimnagar: District Public Relations officer D V J A V Prasad and Maneru High School Correspondent K Ananta Reddy flagged off Bathukamma rally at Mankamma Thota in Karimnagar on Monday. The rally was conducted under the aegis of District Janapada Kala Academy president and artiste G Kripanandam. The Bathukamma rally was conducted from Mankamma Thota to Circus Ground.

Speaking on the occasion, the DPRO said the Bathukamma festival would be officially organised by the district administration at the Circus Ground from September 24 to 30. Cultural programmes will be organised every day at 7 pm. He appealed to people to take part in the festivities and make them a grand success.
