Hyderabad: Information Technology Minister of Telangana K T Ramarao promised that State government would provide 33 per cent quota for women in the recruitments for police services. While inaugurating the IT Corridor and Women's Police Stations on Wednesday , KTR said the government would provide a quota of 33 per cent for women in all the recruitment drives to be taken up for police services. He also announced that one Women's Police Station would be set up in the IT region of Adibatla and praised the launch of software “Fight Back” that automatically sends SMS to five mobile numbers in case of emergencies.

Stating that the government was spending Rs 350 crore for the modernisation of police force, KTR requested the police to change their behaviour and approach towards the people. Transport Minister P Mahender Reddy announced that 15 new buses would be provided to Cyberabad Police to enable the personnel to conveniently reach interior areas with ease. DGP Anurag Sharma informed that one woman counselor would be appointed in all the police stations in the State. Cyberabad Commissioner of Police CV Anand and other senior officials were also present.
