Bhupalpally (Warangal): Telangana Assembly Speaker S Madhusudhanachary who has been making committed efforts to bring aboriginal tribal community of Chenchu into the mainstream society launched yet another programme in that direction. He launched English language classes for the community children at their colony at Regonda in the district on Friday. It might be noted that the Assembly Speaker has in the past, arranged an educational tour to important places in Warangal, organized medical camp and distributed television sets to the Chenchus.

The English language training classes scheduled to be conducted for 180 days were being held at a colony at Chennapur gram panchayat in Regonda mandal. The teachers associated with English Language Teachers Association (ELTA) have shouldered the responsibility of equipping Chenchu children with the language skills. ‘English To Chenchus’ project convener and the ELTA district president Bathini Komuraiah with the help of a team of the association has shot a research documentary film on the living conditions of Chenchu community members. Apart from that, the ELTA team had prepared a teaching module consisting of field level vocabulary and sentence structure that suits to improve the language skills of Chenchu children. Madhusudhana Chary has released the module and the documentary. A class room and teaching equipment were also commissioned by the Assembly Speaker on day. District educational officer S Vijay Kumar, Mulugu deputy DEO M Krishna Murthy, mandal educational officer Raghupathy, Regonda sarpanch Adilakshmi and others have attended the inaugural ceremony.

The programme academic in-charge T Kumaraswamy, ELTA secretary T Venkateshwara Rao, resource persons P Srinivas, K Sampath Kumar, E Devender Reddy, K Ravi Kumar, M Venkanna, L Vamshi Mohan, Indrasena Reddy and others were present.

The ELTA president Komuraiah said that the classes would be run for eight hours per day during Dasara holidays. He said the classes would of great help to the children to prove their keenness towards education besides acquiring English language skills.
