Hyderabad: The YSR Congress Party, which had lost its base in Telangana and was in a sulking mood all these days, has finally decided to resurrect itself in the State.

As the party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy may find it difficult to win back the confidence of the people as he had come to be known as an integrationist before the bifurcation of the State, the party has decided to hand over the responsibility to rejuvenate the party to his sister, Sharmila.

This was announced by Jagan at the party’s extended meeting held here on Wednesday. Jagan said his sister Sharmila would take up the cudgels to make the party as an alternative in Telangana by 2019.

She would also embark on “Paramarsha Yatra” to console the families of the victims who died of shock following the death of YS Rajasekhara Reddy in a chopper crash in September 2009. Jagan predicted that TRS and TDP would bite the dust in 2019 election, and added Chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu’s government was already facing anti-incumbency within four months of coming to power and the TRS would soon fall prey to the people’s anger for its anti-people policies.

Although the two leaders, Sonia Gandhi and Narendra Modi, were from non- Telugu speaking community, the Congress and BJP were desperate to grab the power in both Telugu-speaking States. Since TRS and TDP losing popularity, Jagan said, the Congress, BJP and YSR Congress would only emerge as strong political parties in the two States.

The YSR party leader lambasted Naidu for not implementing the promises importantly the loan waiver scheme. He recalled the services of tribal leader Komaram Bheem who fought against British and Nizam rule for “Jal, Jameen and Jangal” (Water, land and forest) during the early 1900s.

Sharmila said YSRCP would continue the legacy of her father YSR and committed to fulfilling his dreams. It was only YSR who came to the rescue of farmers by providing free power and waived power bills which benefited Telangana.
