Enrolment drive to be undertaken again
Hyderabad: Telangana government has decided to make Aadhaar card mandatory for availing various government schemes. Enrolment drive would be taken up again for the convenience of those who have not obtained Aadhaar card until now.
Panchayat Raj principal secretary J Raymond Peter stated this during his video conference with District Collectors and Revenue department officials on Thursday.
He directed authorities to issue applications for food security cards and pensions. Caste, Nativity and Local applications should be kept available in village revenue offices for the convenience of the public.
Further, he pointed out that Panchayat Raj and Rural Development departments were tasked with responsibility of identifying beneficiaries for pension scheme. Applications would be scrutinised from October 16 onwards, he added.
