A meeting that was held at the Hyderabad district Collectorate on Friday offered answers to long-standing doubts that people had regarding National Food Security, pension, caste, income, nativity and other related certificates to be issued by the Telangana government. Collector Mukesh Kumar Meena mandated that the existing cards would be scrapped and everyone has to apply for new cards.

“The current ration and pension cards and other certificate holders have to apply again for the same. New card seekers can also apply. The applications should be submitted to the local Mandal Revenue Officer (MRO) from October 13 to 20,” informed collector Meena. He attended the review meeting with the MROs. It is estimated that as many as 8 lakh applications will be received.

Local MRO offices will be one stop centres for applying for any card or certificate with an exception to the National Food Security Card, which has to be applied at the civil supplies office.

Applications for the new cards have to be written on a white paper along with the Aadhar card number.

“Aadhar card number is mandatory. The application should contain details of what certificate you are applying for. After the application is received the officers would hand over a receipt which would contain a number. The receipt has to be stored for further communication. Those who don’t have an Aadhar card have to apply at Karvy centres or the Aadhar card centre at Somajiguda and file the registration number in the application,” added Meena.

Officials informed that for the quick expedition of works 10 counters had been opened at every MRO office and plans were in place to digitise the applications.

Civil supplies officials are working round-the-clock to make necessary arrangements for the receipt of applications for National Food Security Cards.
