Hyderabad: The constant raise in the Suicide rate since the new state formation is observed. The power problems, delayed implementation of the cop loan wavier seem to be the reasons.



Here are some stats on farmer suicides:

• Over 230 suicides by farmers have been reported since Telangana was formed four months ago.

• Out of the 230 deaths so far, only 70 were registered as distress suicides.

• At least three suicides are being reported every day.

• On Sunday, five suicides were reported from Adilabad, Nalgonda, Mahbubnagar and Karimnagar.

• Over 30 suicides have been reported from Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao’s home district Medak, mostly from Gajwel, Dubbaka and Siddipet.

• For bringing out the confidence among farmers, Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao is planning a tour to the districts.

• The failure of crops due to lack of rainfall, power supply and delay in implementing the crop loan waiver scheme are stated to be the reasons.

• Irrigation minister Harish Rao blaming the Congress and TDP for politicizing farmers’ suicides.

• Whatever the reason, the ultimate loss is faced by the framer.
