  • Also gives Rs 2 lakh for treatment & an idol of goddess Lakshmi

The trend caught on this week and Telangana has been at the epicentre of all the action. On Wednesday, 10-year-old Sadiq, a terminally ill boy from Karimnagar, who was diagnosed with blood cancer, was granted his wish of being the Police Commissioner for a day. Hyderabad Police chief Mahendar Reddy readily agreed to step aside for a day, saying he felt happy to fulfil little Sadiq's wish.

On Friday afternoon, it was actor Pawan Kalyan’s turn to bring smiles to an ailing child. The Power Star called on a critically ill young fan, who has been undergoing treatment for suspected viral encephalitis at a private hospital in Khammam.

12-year-old B Sreeja, a class eight student of Palvancha town, has been battling for life with acute neurological disorders at a local hospital for the past few days.

The actor arrived in the town in the afternoon after being informed about the condition of the girl, who during the course of treatment in a Hyderabad-based hospital, expressed her wish to see her favourite actor a couple of days ago. The Make-A-Wish foundation contacted the hero and he readily agreed to fulfil the wish of his young fan.

Pawan spent more than half-an-hour with Sreeja at the intensive care unit of the private hospital.

When her parents told him about her health condition and admiration for him, Pawan broke down. He gifted Rs 2 lakh for Sreeja’s treatment, a silver idol of Goddess Lakshmi and wished the child a speedy recovery.
