Hyderabad: Sri Lakshminarasimha Swamy temple at Yadagirigutta in Nalgonda district will be developed on the lines of Tirumala temple within three years time.

Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao who visited the temple on Friday for the first time after becoming the CM said the temple would be given autonomy just like Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams and there would be no influence of government or politicians in the management of the temple. He declared his commitment to develop the holy shrine with the help of corporates.

The CM announced that the Temple would have a Swarna Gopuram whose expenses would be borne by the government. He directed officials to maintain the temple surroundings neat and encourage greenery around it.
After a review meeting with the temple authorities, Rao said that the temple would be expanded in an area of 2000 acres.

“We will adopt a pucca design for expansion of shrine and even consult TTD experts for this purpose. Top priority would be given to providing best facilities to pilgrims. Cottages, Kalyana Mandapams, Vedic School and Spiritual Centre would be built in 1,600 acres, while Narasimha Abhaya Forest would come up in the rest of the 400 acres,” he said. KCR said he would visit the temple again in a fortnight to see what measures they had taken to spruce up the surroundings. He said the government would also make it a ritual that the Chief Minister of the State would visit this historic temple during Brahmotsavams and would offer silk clothes to the deity on behalf of the government.

Earlier, he made an aerial survey of Yadagirigutta town along with Minister G Jagdish Reddy, MP B Narsaiah Goud and Collector T Chiranjeevulu. The priests welcomed Rao with Purna Kumbham and presented him with a photo of Lakshminarsimha Swamy and offered prasadam to him. KCR had announced that he will develop the temple on the lines of Tirupati and will make it as popular as the former.
