Hyderabad: Governor E S L Narasimhan on Tuesday assured a delegation of Telangana Congress leaders that the Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC) would be constituted soon. The Congress delegation comprised Leader of the Opposition K Jana Reddy, TPCC chief Ponnala Lakshmaiah, D K Aruna, J Geetha Reddy and others. They had also sought the Governor's intervention in resolving agrarian crisis.

TPCC Vice-President Mohammed Ali Shabbir said that the Telangana Congress leaders, on behalf of the jobless youth, sought Governor's immediate intervention for constitution of the TSPSC. Responding to their request, the Governor informed that the constitution of Commission was underway. The leaders also briefed the Governor on the ongoing agitation by Telangana Unemployed Students JAC demanding job notifications and scrapping of contract jobs.

Shabbir Ali said that the students of Telangana had made a lot of sacrifices for the cause of statehood, hoping for justice, end of discrimination and more job opportunities.

However, after realisation of the dream of Telangana, the TRS government was completely ignoring their welfare, and hence the Congress leaders met the Governor and sought his intervention on their behalf.

Shabbir Ali said that they urged the Governor to direct the State Government to re-inspect 174 out of 315 private engineering colleges, whose affiliation had been cancelled.

Stating that the de-affiliation of the colleges had led to the loss of nearly one lakh seats and related jobs, he said the affiliations of institutions which were following the AICTE norms should be restored.
