Hyderabad received a rainfall of 13.8 millimetres and the Met Department forecast more rains due to the Cyclone Nilofar which is closing in on the western coast of India. The intermittent rains also affected the normal life partially and the impact would be known when schools and offices reopen on Monday. Hawkers were off the road during the day and many roadside vendors selling fastfood and garments shut down their business early by noon.

Reports said the maximum temperature fell from average 31 degrees Celsius to 21 degrees and the minimum by 2 degrees from 20.8 to 18.8 degrees. The minimum temperature will further fall down to 18 degrees on Monday and gradually increase to 20 degrees Celsius by end of this month, the reports added.

Wind direction has changed and cold winds are flowing from the north-eastern region into the southern peninsula. The average minimum temperature of Hyderabad is put at 10 degrees Celsius and it touched 6.1 degrees Celsius on a few occasions during December and January months. Medak and Adilabad recorded the lowest temperatures of the day recording 17 degrees Celsius each. Maximum temperature of 33 degrees was recorded in Nalgonda.
