Telangana farmers\' suicides will shock KCR. Telangana Farmers Die over Monsoon Failure. Alarming rise in the numbers of farmer suicides.

It has been a miserable year for the residents of Warangal and Nalgonda in Telangana as the regions have witnessed an alarming rise in the numbers of farmer suicides. According to a news report, till date 348 farmers from the Telangana region have committed suicide over debts and failed crops. Surprisingly though, official figures put farmer suicides at a mere 79.

Thanks to the monsoon failure, the kharif season has been anything but fruitful for the farmers.
Scanty or no rainfall has led to crop failures, add to this the lack of irrigation system and their debt burdens have made life unbearable for the farmers. Farmers borrow loans for reasons ranging from crops and education to medical and marriage expenses. And if it's a private lender, then the high interest rates is anybody's guess. The farmers take money hoping to return after their hard work yields fruit. However, the drought situation in the state comes as a major blow and leaves them with no option but to end their lives.
Who is to be blamed for all these? Well, Telangana Chief Minister Chandrashekar Rao is holding Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu for this situation in Telangana. He says, it's Chandrababu who's out to destroy Telangana farmers' lives so as to take revenge on me and show my government in bad light. KCR accused Chandrababu of stopping the power supply from power plants Andhra to Telangana.
Sadly, in the war and blame game between Andhra Pradesh and Telangana innocent farmers' lives are lost. Wonder if this budget can bring relief to the farming community and put an end to their woes.
