The college has allegedly admitted 50 D Ed students though government denied permission to the college to conduct admissions for the academic year 2013-14. As the students failed to get hall tickets, they staged a dharna at the Collectorate and sought District Collector to intervene and ensure justice to them.

Crescent Educational institutions started a school in the town and earned good reputation. Later, they started a D Ed and Bachelor of Education (B Ed) colleges. The college management used to take approval annually. But, for the year 2013-14 government denied permission to the D Ed College. Before giving approval, DEO should certify that the institution is eligible to run the course, but so far officials have not certified it. Meanwhile, the college management, hopeful of securing permission, admitted 50 students under management quota, but government denied permission. The college management moved the- court, but officials denied hall-tickets for the annual examinations.

As exams were nearing, the students came to the college to collect hall tickets on Wednesday. The management asked the students to wait for some time. Later, they informed the students to write exams in next academic year as hall-tickets will not be issued to them this year.

Taken aback by the negligent attitude of the college authorities, students led by various student organisations staged a protest in front of the college. As there was no response from the college management, students staged a dharna at the Collectorate. The officials informed that the college lacked approval and the admissions were illegal. They even suggested to the students to meet the Education Minister and higher-ups in Hyderabad.

Students’ organisations alleged that officials joined hands with college management and cheated the students. The college management informed that it had consulted Education Minister and students will be permitted to write examination in the next academic year.

The management hinted that action will be taken as per the directions of court.

Students pulled up the college officials for giving admissions by suppressing facts. The apathy of officials and negligence of college management will cause loss of an academic year to the students.
