Khammam: Deputy Chief Minister and Health Minister Dr T Rajaiah on Thursday conducted a review on the functioning of primary health centres (PHCs) in Khammam district.

He held a meeting with District Collector Dr K Ilambarithi and conducted a review on the performance of government doctors in the district.

He inquired about the vacancies of doctor posts. The Health Minister stressed the need for providing quality medical services to patients at government hospitals.

Later, members of Khammam district unit of the Telangana Union of Working Journalists (TUWJ) met Rajaiah and submitted a memorandum to him seeking health insurance facility for all the journalists.

District SP Shahnawaz Qasim, Medical and Health department Director Sambasiva Rao, DMHO Dr Bhanuprakash, District Coordinator of Hospital Services (DCHS) Dr Anandavani and RDO Vinay Krishna Reddy were present.

Earlier, when the Deputy Chief Minister arrived in Khammam in the morning, the District Collector extended a warm welcome to him at the R and B Guest House.
